When the forest fills with water

Every autumn, with the first substantial rain, the hollows of the lowland forest flood and become temporary ponds. This is when the Selva del Circeo shows its most singular nature: an environment alternating water and drought, and for that reason home to species surviving in very few other places in Europe.
