The place

Stretch of rocky coast below the ancient alabaster quarry and the Blanc Shelter.
The “Amphitheatre on the sea” includes the cave of the alabaster quarry of the same name.

After the gate at no. 39 Via delle Batterie, continue for about 1 kilometre and, at the fork with Via di Vasca Moresca, turn left and follow the path down to the sea.

This is the last stretch of rocky coast reachable by land; beyond this point, access is only by sea.

Practical information

Visiting

In summer, because of the fire risk, a municipal order bans cars from parking and driving here; two-wheeled vehicles are exempt. We recommend the shuttle bus from the historic centre to the gate at no. 39 Via delle Batterie. In summer, check the regulations in force before you go.
